RumbaJazz- number one on the latin scene of Saint Petersburg!
RumbaJazz is a professional afro-cuban orchestra from Saint Petersburg, Russia, leaded by percussionist and trumpeter Dmitry Pshenichnykh.
The band, formed in 2005, as a combo (quartet +), to play Descarga Jams in local clubs, now became a real orchestra, performing on the jazz scene, and salsa dance parties of Saint Petersburg, taking part in some jazz festivals outside its own area. All RumbaJazz members are the best specialists in both Latin and Jazz music, and brilliant soloists. Also some friends of the band from different areas join it from time to time as special guests. The complete percussion section of RumbaJazz performs some drum shows in the concerts of the band, and separately of it, and gives master classes of afro-cuban rhythms.
The repertoire list of the band includes a lot of classical latin jazz, salsa tunes from the different eras and performers of latin music scene, jazz tunes arranged in afro-cuban rhythms, and some original compositions of RumbaJazz members. The band works in such styles and rhythms as Mambo, Cha Cha Cha, Boogalu, Rumba, Mozambiqe etc.
